ON AIR Thursday, July 27 - Celebrating the Blogosphere! Featuring: Blogging, Feedburner, Social Networking and Blogathon 2006

      Intro:
Today's regularly scheduled shows on New York Radio WVOX AM 1460 will air Thursday, July 27, to accommodate special programming at the station. Please join me tomorrow, when I host SCORE Radio and the Lisa Tolliver Show back to back from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Eastern Time. The Westchester Emergency Volunteer Reserves - Medical Reserve Corps (WEVR-MRC) will also release the latest Emergency Preparedness & Safety Tip on tomorrow's Lisa Tolliver Show.

      Context for tomorrow's shows:
In the 70's and mid-80's, most people met in person. The common social icebreaker was, "What's your sign?" To stay in touch, people exchanged telephone phone numbers, addresses and business cards. In the late-80's and 90's, folks began finding it fashionable to connect online. Interested parties exchanged photographs, URLs (what's this? links, resources) and mobile numbers. In this new millennium, phenomena like online social networking (what's this? links, resources), IM (what's this? links, resources), social bookmarks (what's this? links, resources), tags (what's this? links), blogs (what's this? links, resources), intranets (what's this? links, resources), chat rooms (what's this? links, resources), feed management services (what's this? links, resources) and wikis (what's this? links, resources) have made it easy to for the masses to collaborate and to make love, war and money without leaving their favorite perches. Contemporary queries in today's virtual, socially connected environment, have increasingly become: "What's your feed flavor?" (what's this? links, resources) and "What's your blogging personality?"

Here's the playlist for tomorrow's broadcasts about the blogosphere:

1:00-1:30 pm, Eastern Time - SCORE Radio: Counselors to America's Small Business.

1:20-2:00 pm, Eastern Time - the Lisa Tolliver Show.

      • FEATURED GUESTS: Cat Connor - publisher of Frykitty.com and organizer of Blogathon 2006 - fellow blogathoners, and Matt Shobe and Traci Hailpern from Feedburner.
      • TOPICS: Why and how the blogathon works. Blogging for dollars. Individual and group blogging. Creative ways that people participate. How Feedburner and other tools can help.
      • ABOUT the LISA TOLLIVER SHOW: The show's "four eyed" mission is to inform, instruct, intrigue and inspire listeners about what's happening in the worlds of non-profits and current affairs.

One time schedule change: next shows will air on the 4th THURSDAY (JULY 27) rather than Wednesday (July 26)

      Introduction:

This month, I'm hosting three SCORE Radio shows in a row, in addition to the Lisa Tolliver Show, my regular gig. Both shows usually air every 2nd and 4th Wednesday on New York Radio WVOX AM-1460. SCORE airs at 1:00-1:30 p.m., Eastern Time; the LTS follows at 1:30-2:00 p.m.

The LTS, in addition to pursuing a "four eyed" mission to inform, instruct, intrigue and inspire listeners about what's happening in the worlds of non-profits and current affairs, also references Emergency Preparedness & Safety Tips that can mean the difference between life and death during a disaster or emergency. The tips are provided on air and online in collaboration with the Westchester Emergency Volunteer Reserves-Medical Reserve Corps (WEVR-MRC).

      One-time schedule change:

      • Emergency Preparedness & Safety Tips usually air every 2nd and 4th Wednesday between 1:30 and 2:00 pm, Eastern Time on the Lisa Tolliver Show. The show broadcasts on New York Radio WVOX-AM 1460 and www.wvox.com.
      • However, special programming during the 4th week in July will reschedule the show and the tip to Thursday, July 27 between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. The tip will also be posted here within 24 hours after the show.
